Scarab Development AB has developed a method for water purification/desalination which can use cooling water or waste heat from solar power plants for the purification/desalination process. Hardly any running costs will be required and capital cost will be moderate. By adding value to solar electricity production, solar electricity plants will become more competitive. The technology is proven in other co-generation applications and will now be adapted in co-generation mode to solar electricity production.
